What is PLL?

PLL stands for Permute Last Layer. PLL is the last step of the Fridrich method.

There are 21 algorithms in the PLL set, including mirrors and inverses. The algorithms are usually long, so it requires practice to do them fast. The aim is to be able to do each PLL in 2.5 seconds or below. There is no need to look ahead because after this step there's nothing left to do, so you can go as fast as possible.
